Fat Burning Foods

Time to Watch those Calories

Fat burning Foods can be added to just about any diet plan to relieve the feeling of hunger without greatly increasing the total caloric intake. However, a diet consisting solely of negative calorie foods is considered unhealthy as you will be denying your body of essential nutrients. This is important; experiencing hunger is natural and shouldn’t be ignored all the time.

Foods that are high in protein and fiber are the best kinds of food to eat if you want to burn fat around your middle. Reason being it takes more energy to digest protein than it does to digest fat? So the more protein you eat the more calories your body burns. Makes sense right!

Fruits

Grapefruit, Mango, Papaya, Cranberry, Watermelon, Apples, Blueberries, Cantaloupe

Vegetables

Green Beans, Spinach, Asparagus, Broccoli, Cabbage, Lettuce Carrots, Cucumber, Garlic, Onion, Radish, Turnip, Zucchini, Cauliflower, Celery, Hot Chili.

Eggs

eggwhitesIt is always good to eat a good hearty breakfast in the morning. It will help detour food cravings before lunch and you are more active during the day in which you burn more calories than at night after you eat dinner. Eggs are a great source of protein and vitamin B12 that can help you burn stomach fat.

If you’re worried about your cholesterol from eating too many eggs, you can always remove the yolk and still benefit from the high protein contained in eggs. Egg white omelet, egg white sandwich, and scrambled egg whites are some of the morning meals that I have.

Fat Free (Skim) Milk

A lot of people think skim milk is nasty, tastes watery. At least that’s what I use to think until I started drinking it on a regular basis. You really do get use to the taste and it’s not that bad. If you find yourself having trouble start using skim milk in your cereal first, let your taste buds get use to the taste. Don’t forget about fat free yogurt too.

Beans

Once you get past the gastrointestinal problems beans are a great source of protein, fiber and iron.

Let me clarify I am not talking about baked or Fried Beans, but you might want to try: Navy beans, White beans, Kidney beans, Lima beans, Soy beans

Oatmeal

Alright I will admit Oatmeal isn’t one of my favorite foods but that doesn’t mean that oatmeal doesn’t have some great nutritional qualities.

oatmealMany of the oatmeal brands are now boasting that eating more oatmeal will help lower your cholesterol level. That’s because oatmeal is loaded with soluble fiber which helps reduce blood cholesterol by flushing those bad digestive acids out of your system.

The best kind of oatmeal to eat is obviously unsweetened and unflavored. While I know it’s tempting to select the apple, cinnamon, or brown sugar flavor and load it with butter and sugar, but you really lose out on all the health benefits. If you want a sweet flavor for your oatmeal, do so by adding some fruit.

You might want to try adding some of these things to your oatmeal to make it more appetizing:

Honey, Raisins, Cranberries, Bananas, Blueberries, Strawberries

Oatmeal is also beneficial in fighting colon cancer and heart disease.

Whole Grains

Whole grain foods are good because they haven’t been processed and contain the fiber and minerals your body needs.

So don’t be fooled by a loaf of bread labeled wheat, this has many people fooled. Regular wheat bread is still lacking in vitamins and minerals. Manufacturers add molasses to it so it turns brown.

The only kind of bread that’s good for you is the kind that’s labeled “whole grain”. Be on the Lookout for Whole Grain Foods.

Salmon, Cod, and Tuna

Salmon, Cod, and Tuna are also good sources of protein. All three contain omega-3 fatty acids which actually are healthy fating acids. These foods are also good for giving your immune system a nice boost and should be consumed at least 4 times a week.
